devlog #001

Hello everyone, Shatargat here!

This is the first of many dev-blogs on this itch.io page. I'm extremely new about creating a itch.io page and design it, so, I guess it will take some time to get use to it. I hope I'll make it better in time, it's just the first step.

This page is specifically for NECROSPHERE, my "Compatible with Mörk Borg" project. It's a solo project, but I'm willing to pay local artists for necessary artwork, like cover art, classes, places etc. I cannot create a crowdfunding project from my country, and it seems like the best option for me is using this platform.

For those who don't know me, I'm an almost-quantum-physicist (dropped the school because of many reasons), who is now working as a professional GM on SPG.  My main focus on everything is horrör, and I enjoy to discover different games and systems. I create in-need game mechanics for my own game sessions, and this NECROSPHERE project is my first attempt to write stuff down in English. I'm thinking about publishing lots of other stuff, as well, like scenarios, or mini-RPGs. I'm not a graphics designer, and right now I'm trying to learn how to do it by myself.

With this first update, I wanted to share the first look of my page design skeleton as a first look. You can see it on the attachment image.

By the way, I'm currently running a Mörk Borg campaign, which is a mix of the official products, 3rd party contents and my own creations. So, we can consider that the game is also the first playtest of many. If you want to join that game, and support me while you enjoy your Mörk Borg sessions plus playtest, here is the link. I will do other one-shot playtests in time, but currently, I'm trying to have a decent work schedule, and I have to fill my mondays with another campaign.

About the project...

NECROSPHERE is D&D 5th edition setting I created before its Player's Handbook released. It had lots of D&D-related things, like the deity names were coming from either Forgotten Realms or Greyhawk. But right now, I'm modifying everything, creating a whole new story for that world, and keeping its mörk fantasy concept, and converting it to Mörk Borg.

Here's the plan: the book will have

  • Ten different classes: 4/10 is completed for the first step. I'm creating the classes with the full informations, and I will downscale them to fit them into Mörk Borg style design.
  • At least three different game mechanics: This will include rituals, blood ceremony, and some other chaotic things.
  • More than six places: These places will have their small piece of standalone lore, their inhabitants, potential traps, possible quests, NPCs and monsters. You can easily add them to your games as however you want. I will try to provide both GM and player maps for them, as well.
  • 7 Pointed Pantheon and 7 Pointed Patronage: This is a lore-focused part, just in case if you want to run your games in a different setting, or you can simply take the concept and put it in your game easily.
  • Freeform Environment: There will be key cities, towns, villages, ruins and important places; but there won't be any specific map. You can place them into your world however you want.
  • Tabelize it!: I will add different kind of tables which I believe that's helpful to create interesting stories, or bring more chaos to the game.

I know that there are lots of people who like to roll dice. But I don't. But no worries, I will create a balance with it.

I guess this long of a wall of text is more than enough for a first post. But I will share any news and progress to here.

(Cover was meant to be for a D&D game I was planning to run as my final D&D game, but we couldn't start that project, and then I started to GMing in English, and decided to convert my setting into Mörk Borg)
